Job Description
Job title: Engineer – Electrical
Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £35,000+ depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting the team in reviewing and setting standards relating to Electrical Infrastructure modifications and upgrades
- Working with the team to assess and manage new Low Voltage/High Voltage/Control & Instrumentation infrastructure requirements and deliverables in support of the business
- Provide input into problem solving and engineering issues relating to the subject matter
- Supporting the Site Engineering team developing requirements at capture stage and reviewing electrical submissions at design reviews
- Input into and management of site electrical processes, Operating Instructions, and Topic Manuals
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Qualified in Electrical Engineering to HNC level or above
- Electrical Engineering experience
- Experience of working in an industrial engineering environment
Desirable:
- Qualified to degree level in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent
- Experience (or willingness to develop) in areas of Power Distribution or Control & Instrumentation
- Familiar with commercial engineering standards
- Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and electrical calculation software

The Site Specialist Engineering Electrical team:
You will provide specialist support to the business with respect to electrical standards. The team support a wide range of electrical disciplines with opportunities to learn and develop in LV, HV, C&I and Communications. Each day varies with the chance to problem solve and drive improvements from your experiences. As the Barrow site infrastructure grows, you can be a play a part in the development of new facilities and help drive improvements in aging and existing company assets. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
