Job Description
Job Title: Engineer – Numerical Control
Location: Halifax, NS
Salary: $67,800 – $101,800
What you’ll be doing:

Lead the generation, integration, and optimization of NC programs for shipbuilding

Translate CAD/CAM data into precise, machine-ready code
-
Manage workflows between design systems and cutting machinery (using OMNIBEVEL, PROCAM, and more)

Provide day-to-day support to Design & Manufacturing teams—resolving technical issues and ensuring high-quality output

Define and implement business rules across the product lifecycle

Development of User Guides to facilitate the generation of NC programs

Drive continuous improvement of NC programs and PLM systems
Your skills and experiences:
-
Experience with OMNIBEVEL, PROCAM, and/or FORAN
-
Programming experience in shipbuilding or heavy engineering.

Ability to work with CAD/CAM data and generate NC programs for the cutting of plates and profiles in ship manufacturing

Knowledge of how NC outputs work with plate and profile cutting machine

A problem-solver who can quickly identify issues and make technical fixes

The Product Lifecycle Management team:
You’ll be collaborating with a dynamic team of manufacturing engineers, design teams and external stakeholders to bring designs to life. This is an exciting opportunity to drive innovation in NC programming and PLM systems while working on the River Class Destroyer program to shape the future of shipbuilding in Canada.
