Job Description:

Working as part of a specialist team of Mechanical and Electrical Manufacturing Engineers and Process Planners, you will play a key role in supporting the modification of multiple F-35 aircraft with advanced Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) equipment.

Collaborating closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain teams, you will be responsible for delivering high quality engineering and planning outputs that enable successful aircraft modification programmes. This is a highly collaborative position where your work will directly support both on-site production teams and external suppliers, ensuring manufacturing requirements are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. The role offers excellent exposure to complex aerospace projects within a fast-paced and technically challenging environment.

Core duties:

  • Review and technically approve electrical engineering data, including 2D drawings, 3D models, and Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOM), ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the product lifecycle
  • Convert complex engineering data into clear, structured Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOM) and detailed work instructions that enable efficient and high-quality production
  • Provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support to aircraft assembly activities, ensuring electrical installations are delivered safely, correctly, and to specification
  • Support the installation and integration of electrical looms, components, and assemblies, helping to resolve technical challenges and drive build progress
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless transition from design through to manufacture and test
  • Contribute to electrical testing and verification activities, applying your technical expertise to maintain high standards of quality, reliability, and operational performance

Essential Skills:

  • Educated to HNC or higher or have completed a Craft/Technician Apprenticeship
  • Experience of Electrical production planning/ support role and able to interpret electrical drawings, standards and processes.
  • An understanding of SAP/Catia/electrical wire data would be a preference but training would be provided

F35 Manufacturing Engineering and Process Planning Team:

This is a unique opportunity to work on the world leading F-35 platform, supporting complex aircraft modifications and the integration of flight test instrumentation. You’ll play a pivotal role throughout the project lifecycle, from reviewing and approving engineering data to supporting hands-on aircraft build, installation, and testing activities.

Working as part of a highly skilled, cross-functional team, you’ll collaborate closely with Design Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to deliver critical programme objectives. The role offers an engaging mix of engineering planning, technical problem-solving, and direct shop floor and aircraft support, providing valuable exposure across manufacturing, engineering, and aircraft integration. It is an excellent platform for developing transferable skills and progressing into future opportunities across a range of aerospace programmes.
