Job Title: Dimensional Control Inspector
Location: Glasgow, Govan. OnSite
Salary: Up to £42,000 (DOE)

Job Description:
Dimensional control responsibilities involve engaging positively with a wide range of stakeholders while overseeing build and alignment verification activities. This includes proficient use of coordinate measurement machines and associated software to ensure accuracy throughout the process. Information from OEM data, design drawings, and ship design models is interpreted to identify key design attributes, enabling informed decision‑making. The role also provides guidance on dimensional control training, support, standardisation, assurance, and best‑practice approaches across the business.
In addition, the position supports dimensional control for end‑to‑end steelwork, shaftline components, and weapons systems, ensuring precision at every stage. Findings are accurately reported and recorded within business repositories such as the collaboration portal and CMS, maintaining clear and traceable documentation. The role actively drives continuous improvement by promoting robust dimensional control practices and maintaining strong, constructive engagement with teams throughout the organisation.
Core duties:
- Positive engagement with stakeholders on dimensional control activities
- Utilisation of coordinate measurement machines and associated software to facilitate build and alignment verification activities
- Use of information gathered from OEM, Design drawings and ship design model to identify design attributes
- Offers advice on dimensional control training, support, standardisation, assurance and best practice activities across the business
- Provides support on dimensional control of end-to-end steel work, shaftline, weapons,
- Accurately reports on findings and records all information on business repositories such collaboration portal and CMS
- Drives improvement and deliverers dimensional control with positive engagement
Essential Skills:
- Experience with Dimensional Surveying
- Experience with coordinate measurement system
- IT competent
The Dimensional Control Team:
As a Dimensional Control Inspector, your role entails conducting surveys on the ship throughout the manufacturing process. This involves utilizing standard survey equipment and analyzing the gathered data in the office. Effective communication with stakeholders across operational, engineering, and various business units is essential for this position.
