Job Title: Digital Estate & Technology – Senior CAD Designer

Role Description:

Shape the future of our estate and infrastructure projects as a Digital Estate & Technology – Senior CAD Designer. Working with key stakeholders to obtain the critical design information and project scope required to deliver successful outcomes. Production of high-quality 2D and 3D CAD designs supporting feasibility studies, project delivery, and the creation of accurate operational records and models. Provision of timely advice through the review of third-party submissions to ensure compliance with relevant standards and Building Information Modelling (BIM) deliverables. Undertaking detailed surveys of buildings and infrastructure using both traditional survey techniques and advanced laser scanning technologies, capturing point cloud data to support the development of accurate 3D models.

Core Duties:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to capture, communicate and manage critical design information and project scope, ensuring the successful delivery of project designs via effective collaboration, coordination and presentations
  • Producing CAD designs that support feasibility, project delivery and post completion operational models/records in both 2D and 3D
  • Supporting new projects through timely provision of advice and undertake design review of third parties in-line with applicable standards, including the contribution and support of BIM projects and ISO 19650 practice
  • Survey buildings and infrastructure, traditionally and using laser scanners to register point cloud data and support 3D model generation

Essential Skills:

  • Experience within an AEC (Architectural, Engineering and Construction) environment, supporting BIM project delivery in line with ISO 19650, with a strong understanding of building, workplace and regulatory compliance
  • Proven 2D and 3D CAD experience in a general design using packages such as: Bentley MicroStation, Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit
  • Proficient in using visualisation software (E.g. Lumion)
  • Proficient in surveying techniques, including the use of point cloud hardware/software (e.g. Faro/Leica) and the ability to record ‘as is’ plans and schematics.
  • Be a Chartered Member of (or working towards) CIAT or similar

The Digital Estate and Technology Team:

As a Digital Estate & Technology – Senior CAD Designer you will build skills and knowledge within specialist areas, including Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 3D design. You will be working within a team of 15. The team is responsible for looking after the digital records of the facilities and estates for the Company (including the need for ad-hoc travel to other local sites) and the implementation of innovative technology within the built environment.
