Job Description

The Demand Forecasting & Planning (DF&P) Supervisor will ensure the provision of demand analysis, forecasting, planning and optimisation of inventory through an effective and motivated team.

Forecasting of parts usage to ensure the supply chain maintains appropriate levels of repairable and consumable assets to meet required performance levels, manage spend against budget and forecasting forward spend predictions, maintain and run Inventory Forecasting system(s) and reporting.

Core Activity:

  • Lead and manage the development, production and delivery of accurate inventory forecasts, using data analysis and scenario/options modelling to inform strategic decision making and determine the inventory requirements for the fleet.
  • Lead and manage the development and delivery of the DF&P capabilities (including IT infrastructure), ensuring alignment to current and future business strategies.
  • Provide supervision and coordination for a team, ensure that team members are fully motivated, trained, capable and able to generate work output of a quality to meet all requirements of the business, customer and contract.
  • Management of inventory through planning, stock positioning, monitoring item condition and ensuring product availability balancing service against budget.
  • In conjunction with key stakeholders, manage and develop the effectiveness of the Supply Chain prediction based on historic consumption and known future events.
  • Lead the planning of components into maintenance to ensure compliance with the Operator Maintenance Programme, Mandated requirements, applicable technical instructions and capability embodiment programmes.
  • Lead the ability to define and maintain forecasting parameters to include calculation methods and parts classification (ABC Analysis). The ability to enact purchase order requests with appropriate and affordable supply chain solutions through an approval process.
  • Mentoring the QEAF staff as they join the MOB Organisation from the Qatar Technical Institute.
  • Ensure both internal and external customers receive the level of service expected of business KPIs; specifically the QEAF Typhoon & Hawk Fleet receives what they need on time and to the highest quality.
  • Conduct analysis and interpretation of Supply Chain data to identify repetitive problems and inform appropriate stakeholders. Where appropriate, support the implementation of any corrective action.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Performance Indicators – Ensure the effective management of DF&P activities by setting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes. Prioritise activities within/across teams to maximise efficiency. Represents the Demand Management Manager at management reviews, where necessary. Responsible for the assessment of escalated issues for any impact on Continuing Airworthiness, operational and process performance and general effective resolution, or sponsoring escalation to management, as appropriate.
  • Completion of activities – Ensure all DF&P activities are appropriately documented and the appropriate airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Ensure all DF&P activities are performed by suitably qualified, experienced and authorised personnel. Ensure the integration of DF&P activity within the business and in particular the engagement of key stakeholders at all stages of the process.
  • Procedure/Standards – Manage the DF&P team(s) compliance with the QAF CAME, its associated procedures and standards, and any other Regulatory or company procedures and standards, as applicable. Identify, propose and implement change as required, whilst ensuring compliance.
  • Safety Management System – Promote the application of Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management and Safety Assurance within DF&P, together with the proactive analysis, mitigation and management of Hazards.”
  • Compliance & Assurance – Ensure DF&P team(s) activities are compliant with the QEAF Regulatory Governance and Assurance framework. Ensure Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits are supported by DF&P personnel. Manage the response to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide information into the relevant reviews. Generate and implement effective improvements within/across teams to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness.
  • Statutory / Regulatory & Legislation requirements – Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding and application of the Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework and ensure the organisation is advised of any changes; ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR/WOME.
  • Contractual Requirements – Ensure personal and team awareness of all applicable contractual requirements and incorporate any changes into activities as appropriate.

Requirements

Qualifications/Functional Knowledge:

  • Regulatory Framework understanding and the ability to manage this framework structure into the DF&P processes and activities.
  • Able to build strong relationships with Customers, Part 145 Organisation(s), Order Book Management, OEMs, Suppliers and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the platform contract(s) terms of reference for those Direct and Indirect aspects related to the headline KPIs.
  • Demonstrate operational and commercial understanding of the fleet’s performance and business key performance metrics.
  • Able to encourage/champion a Continuous Improvement culture, and develop/enhance the underpinning management reporting systems.
  • Able to manage the implementation of an efficient and cost effective DF&P strategy.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of discipline dependencies and interdependencies with DF&P.
  • Provide direction, advice and support to the DF&P team(s) on forecasting & planning related issues.
  • Recent extensive experience within an DF&P role in support of Maintenance/ After sale market environments.
  • Recent proven experience in as a Team Leader in a Supply Chain role.
  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Institute of Supply Chain Management Level 5, HND or its equivalent is desirable but not essential.
