About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Delegated Design Authority – Auxiliaries to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) based ideally in Adelaide, SA but flexible on location.
Working as an Auxiliary Systems Delegated Design Authority in the HCFP, you will be responsible for providing assurance and certification for the ship’s Auxiliary Systems by conducting document & design reviews.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for providing appropriate review and certification of all engineering outputs & designs for the Ship’s Auxiliary Systems.
- Ensure compliance and engineering governance aspects of the project outputs meet regulatory requirements
- Work in conjunction with the HCFP Project Engineering Manager to deliver the Engineering Program, as agreed with the customer, and defined in the overall project and engineering schedules.
- Chair design review meetings
- Liaise with customer, internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Cross interaction with mainly stage 1 design team and combat systems team

About YOU
- A university degree in mechanical engineering qualification or similar
- Charted Engineering status
- A tenured background working in highly regulated Design and Manufacturing environments
- Experience working with multi-discipline teams to delivery outcomes in accordance with the agreed plan
- The ability to engage effectively with customers, coach and provide guidance, and the ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve issues, self-starter and able to work well autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment
- A background in shipbuilding and / or defence would be desirable
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain – Australian Citizen
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
