Job Description
Job Title: Data Compliance Officer
Location: Portsmouth Naval Base. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role
Salary: Up to £44,000 Dependent on skills & experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Support and promotes best practise for the management of data within Maritime Services
- Ensure processes are in place for the management of records in line with Maritime Services Record Retention Schedule
- Collaborate with Data Owners to identify areas of improvement in compliance with Information and Records management and Responsible Document Management policies
- Monitor and manage the off-site hard copy record database
- Support in the management and training of data management organisation members
- Carry out audits on data sets to ensure compliance to Responsible Document Management policies
- Compile a suite of metrics for Maritime Services unstructured data identifying compliance to policies
- Support any special data projects outside day-to-day responsibilities
Your skills and experiences:
- Knowledge of Document Creation, Retention and Disposal, Record Retention and Responsible Document Management any exposure to (Rational Governance Tool) would be beneficial
- Minimum A level standard in a numerical subject, Information management, statistics and/or computer science degree, with further business/professional qualifications preferable
- Ideally have Knowledge of the SharePoint applications best practise – structure, metadata, access controls etc
- Draws on a formal body of knowledge and shares a sound understanding of concepts and principles underpinning practices
