Job Title: Change Champion Lead (Continuous Improvement)

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £47,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading all aspects of cross-functional business change activities with key stakeholder engagement at all levels
  • Reviewing continuous improvement performance metrics with reporting up to Managing Director level
  • Working with large datasets to establish improvement opportunity arguments
  • Establishing and maintaining project management plans and project charters including performance metrics
  • Assessment and analysis of current processes, procedures, systems, environment, business interfaces, culture, and ways of working and their respective performance. Providing executive summaries, reports and presentations when required
  • Utilise problem solving methodologies to identify and address root causes
  • Developing and implementing engagement strategies to ensure all key stakeholders support and champion any Operational Excellence initiatives
  • Ensuring sustainability of implemented changes, to ensure a project will deliver desired benefits over the medium / long term
  • Providing coaching and mentorship to support others in development of Operational Excellence Skills and understanding

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experience of coordinating and influencing senior stakeholder groups to deliver business improvement activities. Strong communicator in all mediums
  • Proven track record of implementing change activities, including cultural change through excellent facilitation skills/coaching skill
  • Graduate level learning or equivalent experience
  • Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt and/or ability to demonstrate deep knowledge of key principles from real-world application
  • Must be comfortable creating and delivering formal reports and presentations up to Managing Director level

The Continuous Improvement team:

You will be part of a team of internal business improvement consultants that is responsible for developing and delivering, cost, quality and lived experience improvements that directly impact our colleagues and the delivery of support to RN Warships. The Continuous Improvement Team is highly motivated team of 6 professionals who work closely together to achieve swift delivery of improvement projects, the role is dynamic and demanding. Versatility, resilience and willingness to learn are fundamental to how we approach our work. This is versatile role, one day you may be at the point of work on a T45 Destroyer living the problem alongside our industrial workforce, the next day you may be presenting your findings to a group of senior stakeholders. This role offers a truly unique opportunity to work cross-functionally with engagement at all levels of the business.
