Job Title: Category Leader – Offload

Location: Preston – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £52,000

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and support procurement activities, including: category management, sourcing and supplier relationship management in respect of the Offload sub-category which delivers contracting solutions to enable the delivery of Offload packaged work for all Business Units
  • Facilitate supplier relationship management with existing suppliers and newly on-boarded suppliers
  • Support the development, delivery and maintenance of a robust category strategy to optimise BAE Systems’ approach to the procurement of Offload services from the external market
  • Deliver robust sourcing exercises in line with the category strategy and company processes to deliver optimum outcomes for the enterprise and will manage or oversee the end-to-end procurement process (stakeholder and demand management, sourcing, supplier selection, contract negotiation and supplier relationship management) for category requirements
  • Negotiate and agree contractual terms on behalf of BAE Systems, ensuring suppliers are appointed onto the appropriate terms and conditions
  • Implement the Indirect Procurement Services (IPS) Supplier Relationship Management approach to secure maximum value from existing and new relationships, including involving key internal stakeholders in the process

Your skills and experiences:

Essentials:

  • Good experience of the Offload industry, market and commercial models
  • High level of contract knowledge, including experience negotiating terms and conditions
  • Proven track knowledge in contract negotiation and contract management
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable:

  • CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma (MCIPS), or willing to work towards

The Indirect Procurement team:

Playing a key role in supporting the BAE Systems Offload requirements, you will be working across all of our Business Units.

The role will provide you with fantastic opportunities to support project delivery, covering all platforms, manufacturing areas and sites. You will work closely with a wider variety of Business Unit stakeholders, forging close working relationships to lead Procurement processes and add value to new and existing services. You will potentially also support wider business winning campaigns and new manufacturing/technology initiatives which will provide with a great insight in the vast array of activities undertaken across all BAE Systems Business Units.
