About the OPPORTUNITY

We have a great opportunity for a Campaign Manager to join our Integrated Defence & Autonomous Systems (IDAS) team. Reporting to our IDAS Director, this role is responsible for all aspects of large, strategic, and complex competitive campaigns, as well as targeted Customer and Industry engagement to help identify, pursue and win valuable opportunities across relevant markets.

This role is a key contributor and is instrumental to the implementation of BAE Systems Australia’s strategy through the successful capture of opportunities aligned to the Strategic Priorities.

This role can be based at either our Bourke Street or Richmond offices in Melbourne, Brisbane Avenue office in Canberra, Flinders Street office in Adelaide or Liverpool Street office in Sydney.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Deliver on successful capture of allocated campaign(s)
  • Maintain of a high level of knowledge and understanding of how the role and relevant activity fits into the broader BAE Systems Australia strategy
  • Shape, influence and drive the approach for winning business
  • Partnering with Capture Team Leads to support strategic implementation
  • Plan and coordinate all Phase reviews as part of Lifecycle Management (LCM) process leading toward request for Bid Approval
  • Collect and prepares financial reports, budgets and forecasts for presentation to senior stakeholders and Capture management
  • Identify opportunity for risk reduction, cost savings and implement solutions accordingly
  • Ensures that current and future bid requirements are identified
  • Provides team with role clarity and goals throughout all Capture activities
  • Ensures smooth handover of all bid information, working papers and knowledge to the Project Manager undertaking contract start-up
  • Build and maintain relevant relationships with key customer and industry stakeholders
  • Maintain the goodwill of the enterprise to provide the resources required to successfully prosecute Captures
  • Coordinates solution development considering all aspects of the customers’ requirements
  • Understand the people and delivery capability requirements and adjusts plans accordingly
  • Conduct targeted customer engagement, to inform current and future areas of campaign interest

KEY CRITERIA:

  • Ability to develop, motivate and manage a team
  • Capable of communicating effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders, staff and partners honestly to develop trusted relationships
  • Able to actively listen and solicit input from key internal and external stakeholders and capture team members
  • Can define problems and solutions using team inputs, thoughts and opinions and diversity of thought
  • Consistently deliver on commitments made to internal and external stakeholders and Capture team members through all phases of Capture and transition to contract award
  • Capable of preparing and delivering clear and concise internal and external briefings
  • Ability to maintain a customer focus in a challenging and complex environment
  • Able to think strategically, problem solve and make decisions in a timely manner
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
  • Previous experience working in Defence or the Defence Industry
  • Tertiary qualification in relevant business related subject (desirable)
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Eligibility to hold and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 Defence security clearance
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
