Job Description:

You’ll play a key role within the Sales and Business Development function, overseeing strategically important capture activities that support future growth across the business. Working across highly detailed opportunities, you’ll coordinate capture plans, customer engagement strategies and bid activities, helping shape solutions that meet customer needs while aligning with commercial and operational targets.

Collaborating with senior stakeholders, industry partners and cross-functional teams, you’ll coordinate high-performing capture teams through the full opportunity lifecycle up to project delivery handover. Using structured governance, business case development and customer insight tools, this role offers good exposure to senior Stakeholders, international engagement and excellent opportunities to develop within a high-profile business development environment.

Core duties:

  • Overseeing capture activities across multi-layered opportunities, coordinating bid plans, governance and customer engagement strategies
  • Developing business cases, pricing strategies and capture plans to support successful opportunity progression and approvals
  • Guiding stakeholder relationships across customers, industry partners and internal leadership teams to support business growth
  • Coordinating cross-functional capture teams, aligning values and supporting delivery of high-quality bid submissions
  • Supporting governance reviews, risk mitigation and smooth project handovers to delivery teams following contract award

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive business winning and capture management experience within defence, aerospace or similarly multi-layered industries
  • Demonstratable experience overseeing high-value campaigns, guiding cross-functional teams and delivering strategic business opportunities
  • Considerable stakeholder engagement skills, building effective relationships with customers, partners and senior leadership teams
  • Experience working with defence acquisition organisations, including understanding of UK and international procurement environments
  • Ample knowledge of business strategy, governance and capture processes, with ability to orchestrate autonomously

Working collaboratively across customers, government and industry partners, the team spearheads multi-faceted capture activities, influences major bids, and helps deliver innovative capabilities that support the future success of BAE Systems.
