Job Description:

We are looking for a proactive Buyer to support the delivery of high-value infrastructure projects within a fast-paced and complex environment. The role will involve supporting tender and procurement activities, managing supplier relationships, and working closely with internal stakeholders to help deliver successful project outcomes. This opportunity would suit someone with experience within construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or a similar industry who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a professional team.

Core duties:

  • Support the delivery of high-value tender frameworks within a complex project environment
  • Assist with day-to-day tender and procurement activities, ensuring processes and protocols are followed throughout development, pricing, and contract stages
  • Produce tender documentation aligned to agreed procurement strategies and project requirements
  • Develop tender assessment criteria and KPI incentivisation targets in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Support governance activities and manage ITT programme elements throughout the tender process
  • Build and maintain tender activities while ensuring outputs align with project and stakeholder requirements
  • Manage supplier and stakeholder queries during pre-tender and pricing stages, maintaining effective working relationships
  • Work within a high-security environment, supporting both pre and post contract administration activities

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working within construction supply chains or transferable experience from manufacturing or infrastructure environments
  • Knowledge of procurement and supplier management processes
  • Understanding of construction contracts including NEC and/or JCT would be beneficial
  • Working towards or willing to complete CIPS qualification with support provided

The Procurement Team:

You will be joining a collaborative team within Shared Services, forming a key part of our Procurement function and supporting a varied portfolio of construction projects, including both major and minor works. The team operates across a large programme environment, working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to deliver effective commercial, contractual, and cost management solutions. With a focus on compliance, value, and performance, the team leads end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities, supports both pre- and post-contract processes, and ensures construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with legal and contractual requirements.

This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to challenging projects while developing your career within a global organisation.
