Role Description:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Business Intelligence Analyst – Manufacturing to join our team within the Strategic Surveillance business unit.

Reporting to the Lead Project Manager the Business Intelligence Analyst, role acts as a key link between Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Planning, Finance, and Project Controls, ensuring that data is accurate, structured, and readily available for reporting and analysis. A significant focus of the position is the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of reporting models reducing reliance on current Excel-based reporting and forecasting models, including automation through Tableau, VBA, Power Query, and other analytical tools.

This role is suited to a highly analytical and technically minded individual who enjoys working with complex datasets, investigating trends, solving data challenges, and developing practical reporting solutions.

The position is expected to identify opportunities for process automation, improve the integrity of manufacturing cost data, and develop reporting tools that support informed decision-making across operational and business functions. To be successful in this role you will be able to get the right data to the decision makers and those who can influence the manufacturing outcomes in a format that easily consumed to enable early intervention to yield the best possible cost outcomes.

Core Duties:

  • Responsible for the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of manufacturing and business performance data to support operational decision-making for cost reporting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reporting sources.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies in collaboration with operational stakeholders
  • Develop, maintain, and improve reporting solutions that support manufacturing performance, cost reporting, forecasting, and business decision-making.
  • Analyse operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention.
  • Develop and implement automated reporting tools to reduce reliance on Excel for reporting and improve automation.
  • Analyse manufacturing performance metrics including labour utilisation, productivity, work order performance, material consumption, inventory movements, and production efficiency.
  • Provide analytical support to Finance, Manufacturing, Planning, and Project Controls functions.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience working as a Business Intelligence Analyst
  • Significant experience designing data visualisation solutions which support analysis of large and complex data sets
  • Broad experience with any analytics tools (ideally with Tableau, but other tools like Qlik or Power BI will be considered)
  • Tertiary-level qualifications in one or more related disciplines such as IT, computer science, business, engineering or demonstrated relevant industry experience
  • Certifications in one or more technical applications (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail with an inquisitive, continuous improvement mindset to enhance data quality, reporting efficiency, and business insight across the organisation.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
