About the OPPORTUNITY

We have a unique opportunity for a Delivery Manager to join our program based ideally in Richmond, Victoria.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

The Block 2 (B2) Delivery Manager is a senior leadership role within the MQ-28 Ghost Bat Program, responsible for coordinating and delivering B2 upgrade iterations of contracted products, including the Vehicle Management System.

The role serves as the primary customer interface for B2, ensuring clear communication, effective issue resolution, and strong stakeholder relationships, while representing the Program and BAESA in customer engagements. Working closely with the Project Engineering Manager(s) and Systems Technical Authority, the role ensures technical guidance is effectively integrated into all program activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning and execution for all B2 tasking, in collaboration with Program stakeholders
  • On-time conveyance of B2 deliverables, in accordance with the master schedule and agreed baseline with the primary customer.
  • Manage and enable accurate scheduling across all B2 tasks, ensuring that progress is flowed into the master schedule
  • On-time and accurate B2 reporting, both internal and external, in accordance with the contracted terms and Program requirements
  • Identify, monitor, record and report B2 programmatic risks and lead the coordination of risk mitigation
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with the primary customer through proactive engagement
  • Collaborate with Project Engineering Management to ensure all technical and engineering aspects are correctly and efficiently integrated into programmatic tasking
  • Manage project resources to ensure delivery in accordance with agreed schedule

About YOU

  • Proven Program/Project Delivery Experience Demonstrated success delivering complex engineering or defence programs to schedule and baseline, with accountability for scope, cost, schedule, and performance outcomes.
  • Defence/Aerospace Domain Experience (Highly Desirable): Experience within regulated, safety-critical environments such as defence, aerospace, or advanced systems programs.
  • Advanced Schedule & Baseline Management: Strong experience developing, maintaining, and recovering integrated master schedules in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, including change and baseline control.
  • Customer-Facing Leadership: Experience acting as a primary interface with government or defence customers, with a track record of building trusted relationships, managing expectations, and resolving issues proactively.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management: Proven capability in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and reporting programmatic risks, with experience leading structured risk reviews and driving mitigation actions to closure.
  • Technical Program Integration: Experience working closely with engineering leadership (e.g., Project Engineering Managers, Technical Authorities) to integrate complex technical deliverables into program execution plans.
  • Resource & Cross-Functional Team Management: Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and resource allocation to achieve delivery objectives in dynamic or constrained environments.
  • Continuous Improvement & Delivery Optimisation: Demonstrated ability to identify process inefficiencies, implement improvements, and strengthen delivery performance across planning, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Current Australian Defence security clearance or demonstrated eligibility to obtain and maintain one
  • Eligibility to comply with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
