Job Description

Job Title: Associate Detail Designer

Location: Halifax, NS

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist in developing detailed designs for marine vessels using CAD software

  • Create blueprints and schematics for ship systems and structures

  • Participate in regular inspections and tests of ship systems and structures to verify quality and performance

  • Contribute to the design process under the supervision of Senior Designers, learning and applying ship design techniques

  • Continuously improve design skills and knowledge of marine systems through hands-on training and mentorship

Your skills and experiences:

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field

  • Strong interest in ship design, 3D/2D modelling, and marine vessel construction

  • Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of senior team members

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

The Detail Design team:

As an Associate Detail Designer, you will be part of the design team working under the guidance of Senior Detail Designers and Team Leads. This is an entry level position with a comprehensive training program aimed at equipping you with the necessary skills to excel in marine vessel design using 3D/2D modelling techniques. You will have the opportunity to work on Canada’s River Class Destroyer program and gain hands-on experience with one of the best warship design teams in the industry.
