You’ll also provide a Lower Airspace Radar Service and support a range of specialist test operations, making every day varied and engaging.

Alongside your operational duties, you’ll carry out accurate and timely meteorological observations, ensuring critical information is always up to date. You’ll also contribute to the wider success of the unit by supporting administrative activities, helping drive continuous improvement, and playing an active role in procedure reviews and change management initiatives.

This is a role for someone who is confident working independently when needed, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and enjoys being part of a collaborative, professional team..

Core duties:

  • You’ll need to hold a valid Class 3 medical certificate
  • You’ll bring previous experience, including civil or military ratings in Aerodrome, Approach Surveillance, or Area Radar
  • You’ll be required to have ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 6

The Flight Operations Team:

Working in a rewarding environment, you’ll play a vital role in safely and efficiently managing both civilian and military aircraft movements. You’ll do this in line with the Manual of Air Traffic Services (Parts 1 and 2), as well as relevant UK and international regulations, ensuring the highest standards are maintained at all times.

As an ATCO at Warton, no two days are the same. You’ll handle a diverse mix of traffic and operate with Autonomous Radar status, supporting the testing of fast jet aircraft. This unique setup means you’ll provide services both within controlled airspace and beyond it, offering a truly varied and engaging operational experience.
