Location: Warton – Onsite 5 days a week

Salary: £51,772+ depending on experience

Job Description:

As an Aerodrome Safeguarding & Infrastructure Change Co-Ordinator, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, and co-ordination of aerodrome safeguarding and infrastructure changes at Warton Aerodrome.

The role ensures that all developments, infrastructure projects, temporary works and operational changes are assessed, coordinated, and controlled in a manner that maintains the aerodrome’s safety, regulatory compliance, and operational capability within a complex test and operational flying environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the Aerodrome to ensure that all aspects of Governance and Assurance are in line with regulatory requirements
  • Reviewing planning applications within the airport’s safeguarding area
  • Leading the evaluation of safety impacts associated with aerodrome developments and operational changes
  • Ensuring safety remains the primary consideration during periods of operational change.
  • Maintain oversight of compliance with CAA requirements, aerodrome licence obligations, safeguarding guidance, and airport standards
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders as well as external regulators whilst resolving conflicting operational, commercial, and safety priorities while maintaining regulatory compliance
  • Providing recommendations to management on whether projects, developments, or operational changes can proceed safely whilst escalating significant risks where aerodrome operations, or future development could be affected

Your skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge of; CAP 168 / UK Reg 139 (or equivalent aviation frameworks), CAP 738 Aerodrome Safeguarding, CAP 791 Changes for Aerodrome Infrastructure and Safety Management Systems (SMS) and change management principles
  • Experience supporting the safe delivery of airside changes and infrastructure projects
  • Experience within regulatory compliance in safeguarding and operational change
  • Awareness of military aviation regulation (MAA) – desirable

The Aerodrome Operations Team and Project Team:

You’ll support the Aerodrome Operations Team and Project Teams whilst reporting into the Aerodrome Lead Compliance Officer.

The Aerodrome Operations Team and Project Teams work together to ensure aerodrome projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational and regulatory requirements. The Aerodrome Operations Team provides operational expertise, assesses impacts on day-to-day aerodrome activities, and manages safety risks, while the Project Teams plans, coordinates, and delivers the project. Together, they collaborate with stakeholders, manage risks, and implement solutions that improve the aerodrome while maintaining safe and efficient airport operations.
