Job Description

THE ROLE

The Senior Social Executive is responsible for delivering best-in-class social and editorial content across ASOS’s global channels, including but not limited to, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Snapchat. Reporting into the Senior Social Manager you will help bring the ASOS brand to life through culturally relevant, editorially led, platform-native content that builds brand authority, improves brand perception and consideration, drives engagement, and strengthens the ASOS voice as a credible fashion destination.

You will sit at the intersection of social management, editorial storytelling, and performance insight, ensuring everything we publish is grounded in a clear brand point of view, optimised for how audiences behave across platforms, and delivering against both brand and content KPIs. Working closely with the Editorial Manager and Community Manager, you will help ensure ASOS’s editorial voice is expressed consistently, confidently, and with genuine fashion authority everywhere our audience encounters us.

Why This Role Matters

Social and Editorial content is at the core of ASOS’s transformation into a leading style authority and cultural fashion destination. This role is critical in ensuring that our content output is:

  • Consistently high quality, on brand, and editorially led
  • Aligned to platform behaviours and trends
  • Platform-native and responsive to cultural moments in real time
  • Informed by performance insights and audience intelligence
  • Driving measurable impact across engagement, reach, and brand consideration

By connecting social-first execution with editorial thinking and insight-led optimisation, you will help ensure ASOS shows up with a distinct point of view, at the right time, with content that resonates and builds brand equity and fame over time.

What You Will Be Responsible For

Content & Strategy

  • Interpret briefs and build detailed content plans that bring ASOS storytelling to life across social channels.
  • Contribute original ideas to social and editorial content planning, with a strong understanding of social-first storytelling, fashion trends, and what resonates with a 20-something audience.
  • Ensure all content output is platform-native, on-brand, and aligned to the ASOS brand strategy and tone of voice guidelines.
  • Support the delivery of social activity across key brand campaigns and franchises by clearly briefing creative teams, external agencies and talent.
  • Support the development of franchises and recurring content formats that build audience recognition and compound brand equity over time.

Channel Management and Content Production

  • Support the delivery of content across key brand campaigns, always-on moments, and franchises.
  • Own day-to-day curation, publishing, scheduling and tagging across all channels.
  • Write and edit captions, scripts, and copy for social content, ensuring tone of voice is consistently applied with personality, authority, and genuine fashion credibility.
  • Work closely with the Community Manager to ensure published content and community engagement tell a coherent, consistent brand story across all channels.
  • Support with the maintenance of the content calendar in collaboration with the wider Social and Editorial team.

Performance & Optimisation

  • Monitor content performance across key metrics (engagement, reach, saves, shares, view rate), and feed learnings back into content planning to continuously improve output quality.
  • Work with the Social Optimisation Manager to translate data into actionable improvements, refining formats, captions, hooks, and posting approaches.
  • Support with the maintenance of the content calendar in collaboration with the wider Social and Editorial team.
  • Stay ahead of platform updates, emerging social behaviours, and fashion and cultural moments, proactively bringing insights and opportunities into the team.
  • Work with the Paid Social team to action against the boosting strategy and monitor performance.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Working

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Creative, Talent, Paid Media, and PR teams to ensure integrated, editorially coherent delivery across all channels.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure aligned and efficient ways of working.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to champion the Social and Editorial function to ensure aligned and efficient ways of working.

Qualifications

Who We Are Looking For

  • Experience in a social, editorial or content role, ideally within fashion, media, or a fast-paced brand environment.
  • Strong understanding of major platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, as well as more editorial-led platforms such as Substack.
  • A creative self-starter and problem solver with a passion for social-first content and editorial storytelling.
  • Genuine fashion and cultural knowledge. You know what’s happening in style, music, and youth culture because you live in it.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple editorial projects and deadlines simultaneously without losing quality or creative focus.
  • Strong editorial sensibility. A natural feel for tone of voice, brand storytelling, and what makes content feel considered and authoritative.
  • A confident writer with the ability to adapt tone fluidly across formats, from long-form editorial to short-form captions, while always feeling like the same brand voice.
  • Data-savvy mindset, comfortable using performance insights to inform and improve editorial output.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a generous approach to sharing insight and ideas.
  • A strong point of view on where ASOS sits in culture and why it matters to the next generation of fashion consumers.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working at pace in an always-on editorial environment.
