The Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Networking within APMT TECH HUBS Service Delivery team is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing all IT and Industrial/Automation Network infrastructure across the region. He/she is overviewing, orchestrating as well as executing on Network related project- and business as usual activities including cyber security related activities. He/she ensures high availability and performance of Cisco IT/OT Networks and Siemens Scalance- and other OT Networks supporting automation of equipment.

Being right hand tot the Service Delivery Manager, he/she acts as the regional technical lead and subject matter expert for Network domain. He/she is leading a small team of Network experts, making sure all activities within the Network domain taking place in terminals (focus Spain and Morocco) are executed in a standardized, coherent and efficient manner. Focus activities are around Network design, implementation, operational troubleshooting, performance optimization and IT/OT integration. He/she is working together with both internal colleagues across the international organization as well as vendors and third parties.

Main activities are around:

  • driving infrastructural standardization in line with corporate TECH strategy
  • implementation of global (TECH organization driven) and local (terminal driven) programs and solutions
  • partnering with and being primary point of contact for the domain for program- and project related Network SME’s and managers as well as for business stakeholder, with a clear focus on technology and terminal Network specifics
  • translating requirements into working solutions and implementing these
  • managing lifecycle of Network related equipment and solutions
  • acting as lead solving and following up on technical incidents and problems in the domain
  • co driving transitioning responsibility, activities and the organization as such from local provisioning to global provisioning of IT services
  • leading, co-driving, overviewing and managing team of Network related employees (both hierarchically and functionally) from technical content perspective
  • setting up domain roadmaps and reporting on progress of roadmap
  • managing Network related projects
  • making sure standard ways of working across the domain are set up and adhered to and documentation is clear and up to date

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, we believe you can offer:

  • Strong hands‑on experience (5+ years) working with/on network technologies such as Cisco or industrialised network (Catalyst, Nexus, ...) and a solid understanding of Industrial Ethernet, especially like Siemens Scalance networking.
  • Clear experience in Network Design and Implementation.
  • Thorough knowledge of L2/L3 networking, routing protocols, VLANs, redundancy mechanisms, and wireless technologies, including industrial Wi‑Fi and LTE.
  • Experience supporting automation systems (e.g. via SCADA, PLCs, and other OT components for applications like crane networks, OCR, ..) ensuring high availability in 24/7 operational environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting capability, including log analysis, packet tracing, root-cause investigation
  • Responsiveness to high‑impact incidents, including ability to work under stressful situation.
  • Good understanding of fiber optics, including OTDR interpretation and physical‑layer validation.
  • Hands‑on experience executing network upgrades, changes, migrations, and modernization activities in a structured and risk‑aware way.
  • The ability to act as a regional technical expert, collaborating with global network teams, cybersecurity, OT teams, vendors, and service providers.
  • Experience ensuring strong operational governance through incident/problem management, RCA, KPIs, risk tracking, and documentation.
  • A proactive, structured, and analytical mindset, with strong communication skills
  • Fluency in English both verbal and written;
  • Experience in/knowledge of OT, automation and/or terminal/maritime industry are strong advantages
