Are you ready to shape the future of strategic sourcing and category management across one of the world’s leading terminal operators? APM Terminals is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Regional Category Manager – Aftermarket to drive category strategy, supplier partnerships, and value creation across the Americas region.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that support operational excellence, asset reliability, and long-term business growth. Working closely with Asset Maintenance teams, local Procurement organizations, and strategic suppliers, you will identify opportunities to optimize costs, improve supplier performance, and deliver innovative solutions that support our terminals across the region.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic procurement professional who enjoys influencing senior stakeholders, leading complex negotiations, and delivering measurable business impact in a dynamic international environment.

What we offer

At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to continuous improvement is driven by LEAN principles, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers.

As part of our team, you will benefit from:

  • Opportunities to work with diverse stakeholders across the Americas.

  • A collaborative and international work environment.

  • Continuous learning and career development opportunities.

  • The opportunity to lead high-impact sourcing and transformation projects.

  • A company culture that values diversity, inclusion, safety, and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional category strategies to support cost leadership and operational performance.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers to drive strategic alignment.

  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives and high-value commercial negotiations.

  • Drive cross-functional projects focused on productivity, efficiency, and cost optimization.

  • Conduct spend analysis, demand forecasting, cost modeling, and supplier evaluations to support decision-making.

  • Implement Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) practices to enhance supplier performance and long-term value creation.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within the category portfolio.

  • Collaborate effectively across multiple cultures, functions, and geographies to achieve business objectives.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking a professional who combines strong commercial acumen with strategic thinking and a passion for delivering results.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or a related field.

  • Experience within maritime, transportation, logistics, industrial, or similarly complex industries.

  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business challenges using a structured and analytical approach.

  • Experience leading projects and influencing cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with senior leadership.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Lean-minded: we are looking for someone who brings a strong mindset of continuous improvement – someone who is naturally curious, committed to solving problems at the root, and driven to make things better every day.
