• Contribute directly to the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of terminal operations.
• Work across vessel, yard, berth, and operational planning in a dynamic port environment.
• Collaborate with Operations, Commercial, Engineering, Automation, and shipping-line stakeholders.
• Develop planning capability by coaching team members and supporting performance and succession planning.

Key Responsibilities

As Planning Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate planning activities during your assigned shifts. You will connect Planning with operational and technical teams to support integrated terminal execution and ensure readiness for vessel calls, peak periods, and exceptional situations.

• Lead vessel, yard, and berth planning activities on shift, ensuring safe and efficient execution in line with operational priorities, capacity requirements, and terminal business goals.
• Coordinate operational readiness for vessel calls, peak periods, and exceptional situations while supporting effective use of equipment, terminal assets, and yard capacity.
• Oversee vessel planning execution, optimizing load and discharge plans to support targeted berth productivity and vessel turnaround times.
• Monitor vessel execution and work with Operations to resolve planning-related disruptions, while ensuring compliance with vessel stability, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain effective yard strategies, including the allocation and monitoring of import, export, transshipment, reefer, hazardous, and empty-container storage areas.
• Monitor inventory integrity and terminal-system accuracy, minimize unproductive moves, and promote an efficient flow of containers across the terminal.
• Lead contingency planning for yard congestion, equipment failures, and operational disruptions, while coaching and developing the planning team and establishing clear performance objectives.

What We Are Looking For

• Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
• A Master’s degree or Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Maritime Studies, Automation, IT, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of four years of experience in a planning-related position, with strong expertise in vessel planning, yard planning, and terminal operating systems.
• A deep understanding of container-terminal processes, operational performance drivers, capacity utilization, and container-flow requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to make sound planning decisions in a dynamic operational environment.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, combined with effective coaching, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external operational partners.
