Key Responsibilities:
- Execute pilotage services, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vessels within port limits
- Plan and coordinate vessel movements to optimise berth utilisation and tidal windows
- Assess and monitor environmental conditions such as tides, currents, weather, and visibility during operations
- Coordinate closely with tugboat operators, mooring teams, pilot boat crews, and vessel planning teams
- Review vessel particulars, passage plans, and berth limitations prior to pilotage operations
- Ensure compliance with port regulations, national maritime laws, and internal standards
- Report navigational hazards, near misses, and marine incidents, and contribute to safety improvements
- Maintain accurate records of pilotage movements and operational documentation
- Participate in emergency response situations requiring Marine Department support
- Mentor and support the development of Marine Pilot trainees
- Engage with port authorities, vessel agents, and customers to ensure efficient operations and communication

- Licensed Marine Pilot recognised by the relevant maritime authority
- Certificate of Competency (minimum OOW Class 3, unlimited) with strong seagoing experience
- Valid STCW certifications, including sea survival and firefighting, and a valid seafarer medical certificate
- Proven experience in handling large vessels within harbour environments, including use of conventional and tractor tugs
- Strong understanding of tug operations and vessel traffic management systems
- Ability to analyse complex marine situations and make sound operational decisions under pressure
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce accurate reports
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external maritime stakeholders
