The Opportunity
APM Terminals Liberia is offering an exciting internship opportunity for motivated and curious students or recent graduates who are eager to gain hands‑on experience within a leading global supply chain organization. This internship is designed to provide meaningful exposure to terminal operations while building practical skills that support long‑term career development.
The intern will be assigned to a department such as Operations, Asset Maintenance, Commercial, or IT, and will work closely with experienced supervisors and managers. Through structured rotations and project‑based learning, the intern will gain insight into how different functions collaborate to deliver safe, efficient, and customer‑focused terminal operations.
This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn, comfortable asking questions, and excited by the opportunity to contribute ideas that support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
The intern will:
- Develop an understanding of APM Terminals as a business, including its purpose, customers, services, and operational priorities
- Rotate through assigned functions and departments to gain broad exposure to terminal operations
- Support day‑to‑day activities within the assigned department and perform tasks as delegated by supervisors or managers
- Participate in business‑focused projects, including research, analysis, problem‑solving, and practical recommendations
- Present findings or project outcomes at the end of the internship period
- Engage with internal stakeholders and, where applicable, customers, suppliers, or vendors
- Learn and become comfortable using internal systems, tools, and basic operational software
- Contribute ideas that support improved customer service, efficiency, and internal processes
What We Are Looking For
APM Terminals Liberia is seeking candidates who demonstrate curiosity, professionalism, and a genuine interest in learning how a global terminal business operates.
- Someone who is naturally curious, committed to solving problems at the root, and driven to make things better every day.
- Currently enrolled in a recognized university or technical college in Liberia (at least four semesters completed), or a recent graduate
- Between 18 and 25 years of age at the time of application
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 in the most recent academic semester (for current students)
- Able to work full-time for the duration of the internship
- Comfortable working collaboratively with diverse teams
- Demonstrates strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn
- Able to manage tasks responsibly and meet agreed timelines
- Recommendation letter from the host university confirming suitability for the internship
