At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.

What We Can Offer

At APMT Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement is driven by Lean principles, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • Drive innovation through autonomy in shaping procurement strategies across two major U.S. terminals
  • Benefit from a supportive environment that encourages balanced work rhythms and personal well‑being
  • Access structured development, mentorship, and global collaboration opportunities within the APMM network
  • Influence meaningful operational improvements with direct visibility to senior leadership teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Mobile and Miami Procurement teams, driving performance, engagement, and professional growth through consistent coaching and development conversations.
  • Manage OPEX spend portfolios and execute Global, Regional, and Terminal procurement strategies across multiple categories and complex spend areas.
  • Deliver P&L savings and cost‑improvement outcomes while improving end‑to‑end supply chain cycle times from purchase request to delivery.
  • Enforce compliance with sourcing, supply chain, and contract management standards, ensuring alignment with internal controls and procurement policies.
  • Partner with Asset Maintenance to strengthen spare parts availability, inventory accuracy, stock control, and import/logistics processes for equipment and materials.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers, enabling improved OTIF performance, issue resolution, and transparent lead‑time visibility.
  • Collaborate with regional and global procurement teams to consolidate spend, identify synergies, and mature procurement practices across the Americas region.
  • Support CAPEX initiatives by managing tenders, stakeholder alignment, supplier evaluation, and transparent procurement controls to meet project timelines and commitments.
  • Drive functional transformation initiatives, creating opportunities for innovation, team development, and continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a strong mindset of continuous improvement – someone who is naturally curious, committed to solving problems at the root, and driven to make things better every day
  • Proven experience leading procurement or purchasing teams in a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment, with a track record of driving strategic procurement outcomes.
  • Strong contract management and supplier relationship management capabilities, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to reduce costs, improve processes, and deliver measurable supply chain efficiencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate, facilitate alignment, and manage key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities with experience managing budgets, developing sourcing strategies, and overseeing tender processes.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) required.
