Job Description

APM Terminals

Finance Business Partner

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.
As our Finance Business Partner, you will provide accurate and timely financial insights that enable informed decision-making across the business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work closely with department leaders, senior management and budget holders, supporting financial planning, performance management and reporting activities.

What We Can Offer

At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement means every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers by continuously refining how we work. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.
Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across different functions and organisational levels.
Contribute financial insights that support business planning, investment proposals and operational decisions.
Develop your expertise across management accounting, forecasting, reporting and business partnering.
Help strengthen financial processes, reporting quality and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including Profit and Loss, cash flow, volume and management reports.
  • Coordinate with management to gather, analyse and summarise information relating to financial plans, new business opportunities, future requirements and operating forecasts.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process, prepare six-quarter reforecasts and support budget holders throughout planning and forecasting cycles.
  • Monitor budgets against actual results, investigate variances and communicate relevant findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Track, finalise and update revenue, costs, balance-sheet items, investments and operational data in the relevant reporting systems.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial closing activities in OneStream, including OBS and annual country-by-country reporting requirements.
  • Assist departments with the financial elements of investment proposals, follow the approval process and provide business case and costing analysis.
  • Manage local Power BI reporting, prepare the monthly ABA management report and support senior management team members with finance-related topics.
  • Lead finance activities for Svitzer in accordance with the applicable service-level agreement while maintaining appropriate internal controls.
  • Follow APM Terminals’ Code of Conduct, internal procedures and safety requirements, contributing to teamwork and process improvement.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently put customers first, lead by example with respect for people, deliver results with integrity, and drive continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.
  • A higher education qualification in Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Three to five years of relevant professional experience within finance.
  • Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, business cases and costing.
  • Broad accounting knowledge, including journals, reconciliations, balance-sheet management and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to extract, compile, interpret and clearly present financial and operational data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders and partner effectively with senior colleagues and budget holders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with experience using ERP systems. Experience with IFS, OneStream or Power BI is relevant to the role.
  • Fluent Georgian and upper-intermediate English, combined with high ethical standards and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.
