What We Can Offer

At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement means every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers by continuously refining how we work. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • Opportunity to combine a business-as-usual operational role with participation in global terminal deployment projects.
  • Exposure to terminal start-ups, transformations, go-lives, and stabilization activities across different geographies.
  • Accelerated professional development through collaboration with international teams and exposure to diverse operating environments.
  • Opportunity to deepen expertise in maintenance planning, reliability, operational excellence, and the APMT Business System.

About the Role

The Business Implementation Management (BIM) team delivers APM Terminals’ strategic growth agenda, supporting terminal expansions, upgrades, integrations, and new developments across our global network.

You will help establish and embed maintenance planning standards, strengthen asset reliability practices, and support operational readiness during critical phases including ramp-up, go-live, and stabilization.

This role forms part of the BIM Rapid Deployment Team and requires approximately 50% international travel to support terminal ramp-ups, go-lives, stabilisation activities, and operational capability-building initiatives across APM Terminals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement maintenance planning and scheduling routines during terminal ramp-up, go-live, and stabilization phases.
  • Apply and embed APM Terminals maintenance planning standards, CMMS practices, and maintenance processes across deployment projects.
  • Develop detailed maintenance work plans and schedules to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable execution of maintenance activities.
  • Manage, prioritize, and optimize work orders within CMMS/EAM systems.
  • Coordinate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure availability of labor, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Support asset reliability through effective planning of preventive maintenance, inspections, and repair activities.
  • Identify planning gaps and implement practical improvements that enhance equipment availability and operational continuity.
  • Coach and support local maintenance teams to build sustainable planning capabilities and standardize ways of working.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share lessons learned across terminals and projects worldwide.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset, curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently put customers first, lead by example with respect for people, deliver results with integrity, and drive continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, asset management, or a related maintenance function within industrial, logistics, manufacturing, or terminal operations environments.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning principles, including preventive maintenance, work order management, resource coordination, and scheduling.
  • Experience working with CMMS/EAM systems and maintenance data management.
  • Knowledge of asset reliability concepts and the relationship between planning effectiveness and equipment performance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain functions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate plans, priorities, and dependencies to multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work successfully in fast-paced, evolving environments and support global project deployments.
  • Fluent English language skills are required. Additional languages such as Spanish, French, or other international languages are considered an advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and support deployment assignments across APM Terminals' global network.
