APM Terminals

Area Depot Product and Operations Manager will be directly accountable for formulating and driving optimal results of the Area P&L for Depot, while leading Depot product and operations across the Area. The role ensures safe and compliant site operations, optimises utilisation and yard flow, drives profitability and represents the Depot product agenda in Area leadership forums.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and drive the Area P&L for Depot, ensuring optimal financial performance and delivery against agreed targets
  • Lead Depot product and operations across the Area, ensuring effective execution and alignment with Area priorities.
  • Ensure safe, compliant and effective site operations across the Depot footprint.
  • Optimise Depot utilisation, yard flow and operational performance to improve productivity and profitability.
  • Drive financial health and profitability through disciplined management of costs, operating performance and resource utilisation.
  • Represent Depot product and operational priorities in Area leadership forums and ensure alignment across relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead and support transformation initiatives that improve Depot performance, operating effectiveness and business outcomes.
  • Monitor performance through agreed KPI and Bowler chart measures, identify gaps and drive corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.

Required experience, skills & knowledge

  • Experience in depot, terminal, logistics, shipping or related operations, with strong exposure to operational and commercial performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing P&L / financial performance and translating business targets into operational actions.
  • Strong understanding of safe and compliant site operations, utilisation, yard flow and productivity management.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, with the ability to use performance data to identify issues, prioritise actions and improve profitability.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly in a matrix organisation and cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and transformation and embed sustainable improvements in operations.
  • Leadership capability to align teams around performance, safety, service and financial outcomes.

  • P&L performance in line with agreed Area targets and RACI accountabilities.
  • Safety performance and compliance of Depot operations.
  • Service quality and operational performance.
  • Productivity and Depot utilisation.
  • Financial health, including profitability and cost performance.
  • Transformation delivery and adoption of agreed initiatives.
  • Executed volumes and sales-controlled volumes, as applicable to the role.
  • Pricing and win rate, Net Revenue, Variable Cost, Gross Profit, Direct SG&A, Direct Operating Expenses, Shared Costs, EBIT, PDP, Depreciation, CAPEX & Leases.
