Role Summary

The Intermodal Agent is responsible for coordinating and executing end‑to‑end inland and intermodal operations, ensuring the timely and efficient movement of import and export containers while delivering an outstanding customer experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage intermodal operations — Oversee and monitor the full inland and intermodal service cycle, ensuring timely container movements according to service commitments.
  • Coordinate with vendors — Liaise daily with trucking companies, rail operators, depots, and terminals to secure equipment availability and resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure data accuracy — Maintain high data integrity through accurate and timely updates in all operational systems.
  • Resolve service issues — Identify, escalate, and resolve service failures, delays, and exceptions to minimize customer impact.
  • Monitor equipment flows — Track idle containers, demurrage risks, and detention exposure, taking proactive measures to avoid additional costs.
  • Optimize inland costs — Implement methods to reduce intermodal, positioning, and storage costs while maintaining service quality.
  • Prepare documentation — Ensure all operational and regulatory documents are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Support customer experience — Act as the first point of contact for customers regarding inland operations, providing timely updates and solutions.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally — Work closely with commercial, customer service, and finance teams to support customer retention and operational performance.
  • Generate reports — Produce daily/weekly operational reports and KPIs as required by the Team Leader or Manager.

What We Are Looking For

  • Logistics knowledge — Solid understanding of inland transportation, container flows, and intermodal operations.
  • Communication skills — Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with customers and operational partners.
  • Customer‑centric mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high accuracy and organization.
  • Team player who collaborates effectively across departments.
  • Sense of urgency and persistence in driving issues to closure.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
