At Alpheus, we deliver innovative water and wastewater treatment solutions for industrial clients. Our work is vital to environmental sustainability and operational excellence — and we are looking for a proactive, customer‑focused Service Delivery Supervisor to lead day‑to‑day operational delivery across our field and fixed sites.

In this role, you'll provide hands‑on leadership to our Field Engineers, driving high operational standards, compliance, and a strong customer experience. You will act as a key on‑site presence for our clients, ensuring issues are resolved quickly, performance targets are achieved, and continuous improvement is embedded across all operations.

Your leadership will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient service delivery, supporting long‑term contract success and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Field Team, including Engineers, Apprentice, and Contractors.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day delivery across field and fixed sites, ensuring contractual and KPI targets are met.
  • Coordinate engineer schedules and allocate resources to maximise productivity and service quality.
  • Maintain strong on‑site presence across customer locations, providing proactive issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional, responsive communication.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across all service delivery processes.
  • Optimise efficiency by reducing travel, overtime, downtime, and callouts.
  • Manage the Field Team operational budget, including expenditure approval and cost‑per‑hour optimisation.
  • Oversee the Field Team training budget and support staff development.
  • Support administrative tasks such as procurement, purchase orders, and invoicing; provide cover during annual leave.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, championing a zero‑accident culture.
  • Lead H&S activities, including audits, inductions, safe‑working compliance, and near‑miss reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Commercial, H&S, Process, O&M, BD) to support performance and contract success.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong understanding of operational and maintenance processes (mechanical and biological).
  • Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving ability.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and time‑management skills.
  • Good IT literacy.

Desirable

  • Experience in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Previous experience as an operational manager or supervisor.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer‑service focus.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support field‑based teams.
  • Experience coordinating schedules and resources.

What’s in it for you?

  • Personal private health care
  • 26 days annual leave, rising with service + Bank Holidays (with flexible holiday swap options for religious observance)
  • Life cover at 8× salary
  • Personal accident cover up to 5× salary
  • Flexible working
  • Competitive pension scheme — Anglian Water double‑matches contributions up to 6%
