Professional Development & Memberships

We're committed to helping you build a career, not just gain a job. Through our two-year graduate programme, you'll experience different placements, work on real business challenges and learn from experienced colleagues across the organisation. You'll have access to a wide range of development opportunities, support towards professional qualifications and funded membership of a relevant professional institution, helping you grow your expertise and achieve professional accreditation where appropriate.

Your programme
As a Sustainability Graduate within the Reservoirs Programme, you'll help shape the delivery of one of the largest and most important water infrastructure investments in the UK's future. Working alongside technical specialists, project teams and delivery partners, you'll support the integration of sustainability across every stage of reservoir development, from early design through to construction delivery. You'll contribute to carbon measurement and reduction initiatives, help identify innovative low-carbon solutions, support biodiversity and environmental enhancement projects, and work on initiatives that maximise social value and create positive outcomes for local communities. You'll gain hands-on experience of applying sustainability principles on a nationally significant infrastructure programme while helping to build resilient water resources for future generations.

Project Management Graduate

As a Project Management Graduate within the Reservoirs Programme, you'll play a key role in helping deliver one of the UK's most ambitious and nationally significant infrastructure investments. Working alongside project managers, engineers, commercial teams and delivery partners, you'll support the planning, coordination and delivery of major workstreams that will help secure water supplies for future generations. You'll gain hands-on experience in programme controls, risk management, stakeholder engagement, scheduling, governance and project reporting, while contributing to the successful delivery of the Fens and Lincolnshire Reservoirs. Through a variety of placements across the programme, you'll develop the skills needed to manage complex projects safely, efficiently and collaboratively, helping turn strategic plans into real-world outcomes that benefit customers, communities and the environment.

Transformation Graduate

As a Transformation Graduate within the Reservoirs Programme, you'll help shape how one of the largest infrastructure programmes in the UK evolves and delivers lasting value. Working with programme leaders, subject matter experts and delivery partners, you'll support initiatives that develop programme maturity, improve ways of working, strengthen governance, enable innovation and drive continuous improvement across the programme. You'll gain experience in change management, business improvement, digital transformation, organisational development and programme performance, helping teams adapt and respond to the challenges of delivering a complex, multi-billion-pound investment. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to programme-wide transformation while developing the skills needed to lead change and build future capability across a nationally significant project.

Business Strategy Graduate

As a Business Strategy Graduate within the Reservoirs Programme, you'll help support the long-term planning and strategic decision-making that underpins one of the most important water infrastructure investments in the country's future. Working alongside senior leaders, strategy specialists and programme teams, you'll contribute to business planning, strategic analysis, governance, stakeholder engagement and investment decision-making. You'll help assess opportunities, risks and future challenges while supporting the development of strategies that balance customer needs, environmental responsibilities and regulatory requirements. Through exposure to a wide range of programme activities, you'll gain valuable experience in translating strategic vision into practical action, helping to ensure the Reservoirs Programme delivers lasting benefits for communities, the environment and future water resilience

What you will bring

We are looking for people who are curious, ambitious and ready to learn. Individuals who enjoy solving problems, working collaboratively and bringing different perspectives to the challenges we face. Most importantly, we're looking for graduates who want to help shape the future of water while developing a successful and rewarding career of their own. We welcome applicants who are excited about technology products and passionate about the water industry.

For this role, you’ll need to have obtained in the last 3 years or be studying towards a minimum 2:2 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2027 for the 2027 intake.
