Maintenance Technician Apprentice (Wastewater)
/10
Job Description
Location - Maldon, Essex
Start date - August 2026
Starting Salary: £18,000 (increasing to £23,500 in your second year!)
Right to Work in the UK: To be considered for this role you must currently have right to work in the UK.
Join our Wastewater (Sewage) team as a front‑line Technician Apprentice and play a vital role in keeping our sites and equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. This is your chance to build a long‑term career with Anglian Water and make a real impact on the environment and our communities.
You’ll split your time between college learning and hands‑on experience across our operational sites. You’ll support the wastewater recycling process—collecting, treating and cleaning wastewater before returning it safely to our rivers and seas.
This is a practical, outdoor role where no two days are the same. It’s varied, rewarding, and occasionally challenging, but you’ll be part of a supportive team who will help you grow into a skilled technician. Once qualified, you’ll join a 24/7 standby rota because your role is vital.
We are very proud of our apprentices here at Anglian Water. Over 87% of our apprentices are still working here at Anglian after 10 years. Check out our career site to hear more about opportunities and hear from our current apprentices Operational Apprenticeships - Anglian Water Careers
