As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our Safety Team and are looking for a Health & Safety Technical Assistant to support our Group Health and Safety Director

We are looking for a charismatic and driven Technical Assistant to act as the right-hand to the Group Health and Safety Director. This is not a traditional administrative role. The successful candidate will sit as part of the Health and Safety Senior Leadership Team acting as the link between internal and external stakeholders, coordinate communication and campaigns, support project delivery, and provide essential administrative and analytical support as needed. The role will play a full part within the Senior Leadership Team to help deliver first class health, safety and wellbeing services helping us to become Safer Every Day.

No previous experience in the field of Health and Safety is required but experience of project delivery, working with stakeholders at all levels, operating with discretion to handle sensitive information, an eye for detail and a willingness to play a pivotal part in a busy and dynamic senior team, are all vital.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide administrative support to the Group Health & Safety Director and senior team, including managing inbound queries and handling departmental procurement.
  • Prepare quality reports and presentations that balance technical information against giving clear messages and narrative to highlight opportunities and drive improvement.
  • Analyse data using tools such as Power BI and AI, seeking improvement opportunities through the identification of trends and patterns.
  • Coordinate senior level meetings working with administrators from across the business to support the Chair and ensure that attendees are organised and have the correct information.
  • Contribute to internal Health & Safety communications and deliver projects.

What does it take to be successful?

Essential

  • A proactive mindset with an eye for detail.
  • Diplomatic skills to communicate critical findings to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Resilience under pressure.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Reside within the Anglian Water region
  • Maths & English GCSE
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and shared digital systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with varied stakeholders
  • Competent data manipulation skills
  • Experience using digital tools such as Co-Pilot / AI assistants
  • Team focused, professional and able to manage sensitive information discreetly

Desirable

  • Experience with Power BI or other database tools
  • Some proven experience in project delivery

As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%
  • Personal private healthcare
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • 25 days annual leave, rising with service + Bank Holidays, with options to swap religious holidays
