This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a complex, high-profile portfolio of operational, infrastructure, engineering and transformation programmes that directly support our business plan commitments and long-term strategic ambitions.

If you're a proven senior leader who thrives on delivering at scale, inspiring teams, building partnerships and driving performance, we'd love to hear from you.

Reporting to the IOS Delivery Director, you'll provide strategic leadership across delivery operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, commercially and in line with regulatory and business objectives.

You'll lead a team of Programme and Senior Programme Managers, whilst providing broader functional leadership across internal teams, alliance partners and supply chain organisations.

This is a role that combines strategic thinking with operational excellence, requiring a leader who can balance customer outcomes, commercial performance, governance, safety and delivery results.

What You'll Be Doing

Deliver Major Programmes Successfully

  • Take full accountability for portfolio performance across cost, schedule, quality, safety and customer outcomes

  • Ensure robust governance, controls and assurance frameworks are in place

  • Identify and mitigate delivery risks, challenges and constraints

  • Drive recovery plans where required to maintain delivery commitments

  • Lead strategic programme reviews and performance discussions

Shape Delivery Strategy

  • Define and implement the IOS delivery strategy

  • Translate business objectives into clear delivery plans and measurable outcomes

  • Own the operating model that enables effective and efficient programme delivery

  • Ensure investments, resources and priorities are aligned to business needs

  • Champion innovation, continuous improvement and industry best practice

Influence at the Highest Levels

  • Represent IOS at senior governance and executive forums

  • Act as deputy to the IOS Delivery Director when required

  • Build strong relationships across Anglian Water, regulators, alliance partners and industry stakeholders

  • Provide strategic challenge, insight and assurance to senior decision-makers

  • Be a visible ambassador for IOS and delivery excellence

You'll champion our Commitment to Life principles, embedding safety, wellbeing and health into every aspect of programme delivery and leadership decision-making.

We're looking for an experienced programme delivery leader with a track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex infrastructure or operational portfolios.

Essential Experience

  • Senior leadership experience delivering complex infrastructure programmes and major capital projects

  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary and multi-organisation delivery teams

  • Proven ability to lead large programme portfolios with significant budgets and strategic importance
