Our Team

Anglian Water is investing £3bn in infrastructure across the East of England. Our Asset Standards Team ensures everything we build is safe, efficient and sustainable by defining our engineering standards and standard products.

The Role

This role is ideal for a Design or Infrastructure Engineer looking to broaden their impact.

Rather than delivering designs, you’ll use your experience to develop and improve standards, specifications and standard products that guide projects across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update engineering standards, specifications and design guidance
  • Support standard product development and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement and operational teams
  • Support governance and ensure standards are practical and compliant

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in an engineering discipline
  • Experience in engineering design or infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of construction processes and technical standards
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • Water, utilities or regulated infrastructure experience
  • Exposure to standards, specifications or governance processes

Working Arrangements

Hybrid working with an average of 2–3 days per week in our Peterborough office, plus occasional site visits.
