Help shape the future of water, the environment and the communities we serve
With a plan worth over £11 billion of investment, we're building for better — for you, for the communities we serve, for our environment. As part of this we are looking for you to join Anglian Water's Graduate Programme and tackle some of the biggest environmental and infrastructure challenges facing the region. From climate resilience and major engineering projects to digital innovation and customer experience, you'll develop the skills, experience and support needed to become one of our future leaders or specialists.
Your career path
The water industry is changing rapidly, creating exciting opportunities for the next generation of talent. At Anglian Water, you'll work on real challenges that matter, developing expertise across your chosen profession while contributing to projects that support customers, communities and the environment.
You'll learn from experienced colleagues, take on meaningful responsibility and build the skills, knowledge and confidence to shape your future career, while helping us shape the future of water.
Professional Development & Memberships
We're committed to helping you build a career, not just gain a job. Through our two-year graduate programme, you'll experience different placements, work on real business challenges and learn from experienced colleagues across the organisation. You'll have access to a wide range of development opportunities, support towards professional qualifications and funded membership of a relevant professional institution, helping you grow your expertise and achieve professional accreditation where appropriate.
Your programme
We are recruiting for two exciting graduate opportunities within our Commercial Operations team:
Graduate Construction Contract Specialist
Graduate Quantity Surveyor
Both roles offer the chance to develop your career while supporting the delivery of major infrastructure and capital investment projects across Anglian Water's investment programme. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, gain hands-on experience, and build the skills needed for a successful career within the construction and infrastructure sector.
Graduate Construction Contract Specialist
As a Graduate Construction Contract Specialist, you'll support the commercial and contractual management of complex infrastructure projects. This role provides exposure to contract management, commercial strategy, procurement, risk management, dispute avoidance, and construction law.
Working with experienced contract specialists, you'll assist in the drafting, review, negotiation and administration of a wide range of agreements, including NEC contracts, framework agreements, development agreements and other specialist construction contracts. You'll gain valuable experience in contract governance, commercial risk assessment, procurement activities, stakeholder engagement, and resolving contractual challenges, while developing your legal, commercial and analytical skills.
We're looking for graduates who are curious, motivated and keen to learn, with strong communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
You will hold, or be on track to achieve, a degree in Law, Construction Law or a related discipline and have an interest in pursuing a career in contract management within the construction and infrastructure sector.
Graduate Quantity Surveyor
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of construction and infrastructure projects. You'll gain practical experience in commercial management, cost control, procurement, contract administration and project reporting.
Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and commercial professionals, you'll support activities such as valuations, cost forecasting, subcontractor management and financial performance monitoring. This role will help you develop strong technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills while building a solid foundation for a career in quantity surveying.
We're looking for enthusiastic graduates with strong numerical, analytical and communication skills who are eager to learn and develop their careers. You will hold, or be on track to achieve, a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction, engineering or commercial discipline.

Structured graduate development and training
Mentoring from experienced industry specialists
