Lead system insight. Drive performance. Shape the future of water
Reporting to the System Performance Manager, the Asset Performance Lead plays a pivotal role at the heart of Anglian Water’s system optimisation and data-driven transformation. This is an opportunity to shape how we understand, manage and optimise system and asset performance—turning complex data into insight that drives real operational and strategic value.
You will lead the development of system and asset insight, performance metrics and high-quality System Performance products that inform decision-making across the business. Acting as a champion for systems thinking, you’ll influence how teams across System Optimisation and Water Services collaborate, helping to embed a joined-up, performance-focused mindset.
A key part of the role is serving as Data Steward for pressure data across Anglian Water. You’ll help define how this critical data is governed, maintained and evolved, working closely with data owners and fellow data stewards to develop new processes and unlock value from emerging datasets. You’ll also create and deliver clear roadmaps aligned to agreed OKRs and the Water Business Unit’s vision—accelerating our ambition to be truly data-led.
Using your technical expertise, you’ll take accountability for the proactive monitoring and operational performance of our PRV and sensor asset base. You’ll embed robust standard operating procedures, support new system designs, and lead analytical activity that improves operational resilience and performance.
Beyond the technical impact, this is a leadership role. You’ll line manage team members while acting as a coach and mentor across the wider business—developing capability today and preparing our people for the future challenges of the water sector. Your leadership will help teams thrive, innovate and deliver meaningful outcomes for customers and communities.
What you’ll be doing

As Data Steward for pressure data, you’ll set the direction for how this critical data is governed, maintained and used across the business. You’ll establish best practice, lead governance forums, develop standards and roadmaps, and work closely with stakeholders to improve data quality, insight and decision-making in line with Anglian Water’s long-term strategy.
Alongside your technical and strategic responsibilities, you’ll provide strong people leadership—line managing team members, supporting delivery partners, sharing knowledge and stepping in to support the System Performance Manager when required. Through your leadership, you’ll help build capability, collaboration and a systems-thinking culture across the organisation.
