Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Technical Project Manager for EF Simulation Programs (d/f/m)

Eurofighter Typhoon is the world’s most advanced swing-role combat aircraft providing simultaneously deployable Air-to-Air and Air-to-Surface capabilities. Airbus is acting as the main contractor within the industrial Pilot Synthetic Training System consortium. Combat Training Systems department develops state-of-the-art EF simulator systems. Long term, multinational, large scale system of systems programs are the best place to learn and perform engineering activities.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Define the technical content for bids and proposals for Training Aids.
  • Collect and analyze Customer technical and general requirements.
  • Define the project technical scope.
  • Define the technical Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), including Work Packages (WPs) description, broken down into potential contributors.
  • Estimate effort for the activities in TASTS perimeter and define resources needed for the project.
  • Monitor and control the engineering deliverables along the project life cycle, performed by Industry (central engineering and/or suppliers).
  • Organize and call the maturity reviews with Customer and Industry along the project life cycle, i.e., SRR, PDR, CDR, SS-CDR, IRR.
  • Coordinate creation and execution of the End2End Acceptance Test Manuals (ATMs) and operational Acceptance Test Manuals (ATMs), at product level, in preparation for the Customer Attended Acceptance Testing (CAAT).
  • Lead the Qualification and Ready for Training activities of the device/simulator at product level.
  • Monitoring and regular reporting of project status to stakeholders.
  • Conduct and participate in project meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences.
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience.
  • Knowledge of system engineering principles and V&V framework.
  • Experience within the training and flight simulation industry.
  • Experience in the EF programme (e.g., aircraft, training) is highly recommended.
  • Experience using Confluence and JIRA for tasks management.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Good knowledge of English both written and spoken is required to be able to work in a multicultural environment.
