In order to support the Engineering Military Aircraft - Airframe- Structural Integrity & SHM team , Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
Structural Health Monitoring Project Engineer (d/f/m)
The Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) team is responsible, in particular, for the monitoring of the structural integrity of the German EUROFIGHTER fleet, for the assessment of exceeded design limits in the national and international context and for recommending measures for restoring airworthiness after design-critical incidents.
In addition, we support the German customer to handle the product EUROFIGHTER as effectively as possible with regard to safety and reliability. In this context, as an engineer at Structural Integrity & SHM, you will be responsible for the inspection and correction of components of the German EUROFIGHTER fleet that require monitoring. The data analysis software is defined by Team SHM and implemented with the help of suppliers.
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsibilities
- You will be in charge of engineering work packages and manage internal projects.
- You will lead the software development of SHM data analysis tools for Airbus. The developments are carried out taking into account the following factors: Safety, quality, system performance, costs, environment, operational and industrial requirements.
- You will manage the contributions of suppliers.
- You will lead the qualification of software developments and support their certification.
- You will evaluate flight data in respect of the durability of structures.
- You will coordinate and manage the evaluation of design critical events to support continuous airworthiness.
Desired skills and qualifications
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering
- Several years of project management experience
- Experience in software design and software development
- Experience in system engineering
- Airworthiness and certification knowledge
- Innovative thinking
- Strong team player, independent, proactive approach and high quality awareness
- Fluent in German and English
