Job Description

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Analysis Engineer to join the Wing Analysis Engineering team at Filton.

Are you passionate about developing wing structures and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams? We are a team of structural engineers, technical experts, and project managers committed to delivering innovative technical solutions to support wing analysis across our aircraft programs.

How you will contribute

  • Structural Integrity & Authorisation: Lead the resolution of complex structural analysis challenges, acting as F&DT approval signatory and progressing toward full structural authorisation for critical wing deliverables.
  • Certification & Methodology: Define, validate, and revise the core assumptions, sizing rules, and analytical methods used to certify Outer Wing structures to CS-25 airworthiness standards.
  • Regulatory & Technical Liaison: Serve as a primary technical focal point representing Wing Engineering to Technical Authorities, Chief Engineering, and Airworthiness Bodies (such as EASA).
  • Cross-Disciplinary Innovation: Introduce advanced engineering solutions, best practices, and modern ways of working drawn from aerospace, adjacent high-tech industries, or cutting-edge research environments.
  • Strategic Product Direction: Shape wing product strategy from a F&DT analysis perspective, identifying and deploying digital process improvements, automated sizing tools, and structural weight-saving opportunities.
  • Technical Mentorship: Drive the technical capability of the team by coaching engineers in both first-principles stress analysis and technical decision-making.

About You

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and competences:

  • Signatory Credentials: Established track record as a Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Approval signatory, with the competence and background to attain full structural Authorisation.
  • Methods & Toolsets: Detailed working knowledge of F&DT analysis methods and tools (including ISAMI, GISEH, and Nastran/HyperWorks), backed by solid classical hand-calculation fundamentals.
  • Leadership & Delivery: Proven experience steering engineering work packages to cost, quality, and schedule milestones while championing creative problem-solving and innovation.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Skilled at navigating complex, multi-functional stakeholder networks to align technical airworthiness requirements with customer and programme expectations.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical data clearly for decision-making and reviews.

Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customised development solutions.
