The global project ‘People Safety @ Work’ has teams from all of our plants working on best practices to reduce and eliminate the risks associated with using industrial equipment.

This placement will give the successful candidate the opportunity to influence safety strategy and to practice various aspects of project management including; creating project plans, engaging multi functional teams, developing financial business cases and reporting on project status.

What you will be doing:

This role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work with experienced safety professionals across Airbus and to influence the strategy to improve the safe use of a wide range of industrial equipment for injury prevention. It also includes working with various local production teams made up of Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and Safety to develop and deploy project plans to realise these improvements across the Broughton plant.

During this placement, the activities you may undertake will also include:

  • Managing improvement projects aimed at optimizing the safety of personnel and the efficiency of machinery;
  • Collaborating with transnational teams to identify best practices and implement them at the local level.


Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only . Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Studying towards a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Occupational Safety, or equivalent;
  • Nice to have Project Management skills and the ability to think strategically and translate improvement practices into local project plans;
  • Ability to build business cases to justify any expenditure required to deliver the improvement projects;
  • Collaborates well within a team, including working with a multistakeholder team;
  • A good communication style to engage and influence people from different functions;
  • Proficiency in the use of AI tools;
  • Familiarity with Google Suite.


SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
