In order to support Real Estate Master Plan team, Airbus is looking for a

Real Estate Manager - Sustainable Building Referent (d/f/m)

The team is progressively deploying the Sustainable Building Referential ( SBR ) to support future investment decisions according to our long-term sustainability ambitions. The SBR project is in its deployment and operational phase, and you will play a key role in reducing the global Real Estate environmental footprint of Airbus. You will be responsible for embedding a sustainability mindset into the heart of our investment decisions, ensuring that every new construction, major refurbishment, lease and acquisition contract aligns with our long-term environmental goals.

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

As a Sustainable Building Referent, you will focus on the core operational and project management aspects of the SBR deployment across the Company:

  • Conducting SBR assessments for a part of a diverse portfolio of 50+ projects annually, spanning industrial, logistics and office spaces
  • Providing technical recommendations to CapEx Multi-Functional Teams to optimise sustainability levels, balancing environmental impact with cost and operational efficiency
  • Supporting project teams from the initial design phase through to delivery to ensure adherence to the SBR methodology
  • Coordinating with internal Service Lines, Corporate Sustainability teams and external partners such as design offices, general contractors and brokers
  • Managing the performance and deliverables of external SBR consulting firms
  • Supporting the SBR project leader until the end of the year
  • Creating synthetic views and benchmarks to facilitate the sharing of best practices in sustainable building solutions across the Company
  • Proposing and implementing process improvements to optimize SBR deployment and delivering KPIs to management and internal stakeholders

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Educated to a master’s or engineering degree level (or equivalent) in construction, real estate, environmental sciences, sustainability or architecture
  • Solid experience in project or programme management, transformation initiatives or large-scale real estate developments
  • Strong literacy in international building labels such as BREEAM, LEED, HQE or DGNB and real estate market best practices
  • Strategic influence with the ability to contribute efficiently to multi-functional teams in a transnational environment
  • Autonomous and methodical approach with strong decision-making and analytical skills
  • German and English language skills at negotiation level are required
  • French and/or Spanish language skills are appreciated as secondary languages
