Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a PMO Lead to join our growing Mechanical Platform team within the Telecom transnational PMO in Stevenage.

Operating in a dynam ic and fast-paced environment supporting new Telecom contracts, you will ensure project time, cost, and quality data is transformed into actionable information.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

• Implement and uphold Airbus Project Management standards, maintaining the Project Management Plan and ensuring consistency across all contractual, financial, and technical requirements.
• Maintain the integrated programme schedule using standard toolsets (e.g., Unified Planning), identifying the critical path and proposing measures to optimise delivery.
• Track programme progress to provide clear visualisations, trends, and early warnings, enabling proactive, data-driven decision-making.
• Manage the Risk and Opportunity (R&O) Management Plan, coordinate resource demands across functions, and resolve potential bottlenecks.
• Prepare comprehensive project status reports for the monthly cycle (MPR0 and MPR1) and provide quantitative and qualitative data for customer and stakeholder discussions.
• Manage PMO resources (including subcontractors and purchase order preparation) and provide dedicated PMO support for Mechanical Platform bids.

ABOUT YOU

• Experience of leading a Project Management Office (PMO) or managing complex projects, backed by a degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a similar field.
• Experience of project scheduling and utilizing standard scheduling tools (such as Unified Planning, MS Project, or Primavera) to drive delivery.
• Experience of managing project risks and opportunities (ideally utilizing tools such as ARM), combined with strong leadership skills and a delivery-oriented mindset.
• Experience of working across diverse functions, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders amid conflicting priorities (a PMI certification is highly preferred).
