Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Navigation & Sensors Development Engineer

Ready to take on a new challenge? The Airbus Navigation Department in Manching is looking for a Navigation System Engineer to support our team.

You will be part of a team developing Eurodrone, FCAS, Tornado and future (R&T) military programmes. As part of the Navigation Systems Manching team, you will be involved in design and analysis activities aiming at managing the interface between systems to support the overall aircraft design.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Definition of Requirement and technical specifications (FRD, SRD, SID, HMI)
  • Develop Navigation functions using model based development tools
  • Perform the Integration, validation and verification of the designed systems, V&V activities: Preparation of Test Procedures, Perform and/or monitor tests and perform analysis of test results, test reports
  • Support to Procurement activities (Purchase Technical Specifications (PTS) or perform supplier management)
  • Support to Qualification and Certification activities

Required skills

  • You have a Master in Aerospace Engineering or similar
  • You have knowledge and prior experience in navigation systems, sensors or any other avionic systems
  • You have knowledge in requirements management (DOORS)
  • You have experience in digital ICD design tools (e.g. CAMEO, ICDMS, 3Dx or others).
  • Knowledge of MATLAB Simulink would be a plus
  • Beneficial: experience implementing regulations and standards like DO178/278, 254, ARP4754 etc.
  • Beneficial: you have theoretical and practical knowledge of one or more related topics: satellite navigation systems, satellite based augmentation systems, navigation system and user algorithms, positioning algorithms, parameter estimation problems, integrity concepts, kalmann filter, Galileo constellation.
  • You possess solid written and verbal communication skills in English
  • You are an excellent team player and are willing to work in international environments
