Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Technical Business Analyst & Functional Tester to play a pivotal role in designing, refining, and validating our next-generation enterprise application. Built on an AWS cloud infrastructure , our custom-built Java (Backend) and React (Frontend) application interfaces seamlessly with the data platform .

In this dual role, you will act as the vital bridge between business stakeholders, data scientists, and software engineers. You will be responsible for translating complex operational and engineering requirements into technical specs, while simultaneously architecting the testing strategy to ensure data integrity, system performance, and a flawless user experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Data Analysis (50%)

• Requirement Elicitation: Collaborate with aviation operations, engineering, and product stakeholders to discover, gather, and document business requirements.
  
• Skywise Data Mapping: Analyze and map complex datasets hosted on Airbus Skywise to feed downstream Java microservices.
  
• Functional Specification: Author crisp Epics, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria (BDD/Gherkin format), Data Flow Diagrams, and technical functional specifications.
  
• Gap & Systems Analysis: Identify functional gaps between the data available in the Skywise ecosystem and the frontend UI capabilities built in React.
  
• Product Backlog Management: Partner with the Product Owner to prioritize, groom, and maintain the sprint backlog within an Agile/Scrum framework.
  

2. Quality Management (50%)

• Test Strategy & Execution: Design comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and end-to-end test cases covering complex data workflows and UI interactions.
  
• API & Integration Testing: Conduct rigorous backend testing of Java RESTful microservices and data pipelines hosted on AWS using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or ReadyAPI.
  
• Frontend UI/UX Testing: Perform functional, exploratory, and regression testing on responsive React-based web interfaces to ensure usability and alignment with wireframes.
  
• Defect Lifecycle Management: Log, track, and prioritize system defects using Agility or ServiceNow, collaborating closely with developers for rapid resolution.
  

Must-Have Technical Expertise:

• Manufacturing Data Platform Experience: Direct exposure or working knowledge of the Airbus Skywise platform (Skywise Core, Palantir Foundry architecture, or standard aviation data paradigms).
  
• Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience working within an AWS environment (understanding of S3, Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, and CloudWatch).
  
• Application Environment: Deep understanding of software ecosystems built with a Java microservices backend and React JavaScript frontend. Note: Coding is not required, but you must be able to read JSON payloads, logs, and inspect browser elements.
  

Domain Knowledge & Soft Skills:

• Strong domain knowledge in aerospace, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) is highly preferred.
  
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate highly technical constraints (e.g., AWS timeouts or Skywise data sync delays) into clear business impacts.
  
• Detail-oriented mindset: A natural investigator who enjoys finding edge cases in workflows and data flows alike.
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Aerospace Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  
• Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience working as a Technical BA, QA Engineer, or in a hybrid BA/QA capacity within an Agile environment.
  
• ISTQB, CCBA/CBAP, or AWS Cloud Practitioner certifications are a definitive plus.
