1-2 years overall working experience in PMO, preferably technical background or good technical understanding

We are looking for a Junior Engineering Data Management Specialist to become part of the Airbus Defence and Space Romania team.

Mission: Special subtype of system engineering with the focus on a transversal Engineering speciality: Engineering Data Management. Collaborates closely with the Chief Engineer / Engineering Project Manager of different systems / system elements for Airbus Defence and Space applying the most efficient and innovative technologies to create reports based on custom data.

Areas of impact: Project management, software development lifecycles, scheduling, engineering KPI reporting, interactive dashboards, delivery management, requirements’ database administration, technical documentation processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides expertise on the Specialty area, in an interdisciplinary approach governing the total technical and managerial effort to support a solution throughout its life cycle.
  • Participates in the definition, set up, institutionalization, supporting and maintenance of the Engineering Data Management standards, process and deliverables.
  • Defines / manages the specific deliverables for the Specialty area, in accordance to the project life cycle or engineering organization’s needs.
  • Builds and integrates the Engineering Data Management processes towards the establishment of a complete solution, as delivered by the project.
  • Participates into definition of supporting life cycle processes that balance cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver Engineering Data Management artefacts (e.g. interactive schedules, resource plans, interactive dashboards, chief engineering / project management reports, SW / HW deliverables, Confluence pages, technical documentation, Risk and opportunity reports, PMO KPIs) in collaboration with responsible Work Package Managers.
  • Based on business needs, occasional travel within and outside the country may be required.

Requirements:

Skills:

  • Basic experience or knowledge in IT / PMO/ System Engineering technical domain
  • Basic experience with some project management tools (Ms Project, Enterprise Project Management, Ms Excel, Google Suite, Powerpoint), Agile Project Management (Confluence, Jira) and project management processes
  • Ability to structure and define the specific engineering data management deliverables, in accordance to the project life cycle (with guidance from the project or area coordinators)
  • Ability to create reports based on clear guidelines
  • Ability to easily communicate and interact with stakeholders (Chief Engineers, Project Managers, Work Package Managers etc.) - the role is transversal and assumes communication with various managers and teams, most communication needs to be handled remotely
  • Fluent in English, ideally basic German and French

Specific knowledge

  • Basic knowledge on Software development processes and/or hardware, engineering, Agile way of working, Jira / Confluence
  • Basic knowledge on the Specialty area: Project Management and basic financial processes
  • Basic knowledge of project management tools (Ms Project / Unified Planning, Enterprise Project Management, Ms Office, Confluence, Jira, Action items tracking, Google Suite, Risk management / ARM) and project management processes
