Team: Certification Technical Directorate

Certification may be one of the best kept secrets in Engineering. Perceived as purely regulatory by some, this discipline in fact provides a complete overview of the aircraft development process, from the initial project application to the continued airworthiness of the in-service fleet.

As a Data Science Engineer you will join the certification team in India. This dynamic team, composed of Certification Engineers, Certification Managers and Experts, currently based in India & Europe, forms part of the Certification Technical Directorate (CTD). This team contributes to Type Certification (TC), Change to TC, operational approval, rulemaking and customer support activities.

Role :

As a Data Analyst / Machine Learning Engineer focusing on Aircraft certification related applications with the task to provide safe and balanced data driven solutions. She/He will play a key role in developing machine learning and deep learning (classification, regression, time-series and natural language processing) models and/or analytics dashboards for decision-making. The candidate should be able to work on in-house tool development to access the required databases with certification data and make the prediction for Mod classification, requirements, level of involvement of EASA panels and text based elastic search features for similar mod identification. As a future road map, the candidate should be able to look into AI/ ML algorithms like LLMs, NLP for in-house tool enhancement.

Key Skills

❖ Machine learning, Deep learning code development and deployment

❖ Dashboarding in environments like Dash, Power BI, Spotfire etc.

❖ Experience in Classification/Regression, Natural Language Processing, Time series Analysis, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning

❖ Data science driven decision

Good to have (not mandatory)

❖ Basic understanding of System Engineering and Aerospace/ Aviation

❖ Basic Knowledge of Generative Artificial Intelligence and state-of-the-art modelling techniques

❖ Basic Knowledge on Large Language Model development, deployment and monitoring

❖ Exposure to Software development, testing, verification and integration

Preferred Languages: Python, App-script, Java-script

Data Science Frameworks: Scikit-Learn, Keras, Tensorflow, Pytorch, Langchain etc.

Environments: Jupyter Notebook / Anaconda, Visual Studio etc.

Soft Skills:

• Teamwork and excellent communication skills

• Willingness to learn new skills, self-development and Problem-solving orientation

• Fail-fast mindset and Solutions approach

• Communicate effectively (oral, writing & presentation)

Qualification : Masters or Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Computer Science related streams.
