About us:

The Broughton-based Industrial Academy develops and delivers world-class training for our customers in Operations. We take great pride in our ability to coach and upskill colleagues-whether they are experienced or new to the business-ultimately enabling them to build the world’s finest wings. We ensure employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge to build our wings, both safely and to a high quality standard. We can’t build wings without support functions, so we also ensure they are also highly competent and trained to deliver their roles.

You'll be working with a passionate and highly motivated team that has a wealth of knowledge covering production processes, lean tools and systems, manufacturing engineering, and planning and logistics. Our team has many years of experience among us and we’d love to share that knowledge with you. We also work closely with teams based in France, Germany, Spain, and the United States, giving you the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues internationally.

Not only do we deliver training to the Operations function, but we also develop training for Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Lean, and Logistics and Production Scheduling. One day we will be developing learning solutions using the digital tools we have available in-house and the next day we could be working with an external provider to collaborate on creating a new training course. We are always excited to see new tools becoming available to us, to be able to offer a learning solution that best fits the training requirements and to fill the employee competence gaps.

We are an open, trusting team where both fun and accountability matter.

What you will be doing:

Teamwork and effective communication are key skills and we’ll help you develop these. You’ll be working on exciting projects as we prepare for the future; exploring innovative training methods and the skills we’ll need to build the aircraft of tomorrow!

Some of your main responsibilities will be:

  • Support the review and development of learning solutions, including the opportunity to create your own rich media training and training documents;
  • Taking advantage of new ways of teaching (for example: digital means);
  • Taking part in meetings with colleagues, managers and internal customers - growing your communication skills both locally and transnationally;
  • Supporting the delivery of practical training in our workshops: creation of training plans, enabling the trainers with tooling/material.

You will also get the opportunity to:

  • Understand and assess employee competency gaps and find solutions;
  • Review training participation and feedback;
  • Understand how the site labour plan fits in with our training plans and see the range of skills and knowledge that is shared before employees work on our wings.

We’re always looking to improve and will welcome your ideas too!

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only . Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

*Your application should include a CV along with a Cover Letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role.*

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • Studying towards a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering, Psychology or equivalent;
  • Google Suite knowledge;
  • Enthusiasm and a strong interest in developing yourself, which contribute to the success of the Academy team and the Airbus family;
  • STEM subject qualifications are preferable together with the desire to work in a technical team environment.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
