As Head of Environment, Health & Safety in the UK you will be integrated into the Health and Safety transnational organisation with a direct reporting line to the Head of EHS Business Partners.

You will contribute to the overall Health and Safety strategy of Airbus by leading a team of Environment, Health & Safety specialists, being able to work beyond organisational boundaries and serving multiple business partners' needs.

In addition to this you will ensure collaboration and communication with different internal stakeholders, such as: Employees, HR Business Leaders, Unions and Business Leaders to foster a safety culture.

Your key mission will be to communicate the EHS objectives, progressing, and best practices to the relevant parties, (including external stakeholders).

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

  • Ensuring the organization complies with all relevant environmental, health, and safety laws, regulations, and standards. This involves staying up to date with the latest regulations and implementing necessary measures to ensure compliance.
  • Developing organizational policies and procedures related to environmental, health, and safety. These policies should outline the organization's commitment to EHS, provide guidelines for employees, and establish protocols for responding to incidents and emergencies.
  • Ensuring delivery on time, cost and quality to ensure customer satisfaction. Encourage innovation and continuous improvement. Understand Airbus strategy and translate it into meaningful objectives to contribute to increase Airbus profitability.
  • Collaborating with the transnational organization of Health and Safety ensuring the alignment of local initiatives with transnational perspectives.
  • Playing a key role in contributing to the stewardship and ambitions of the EHS transnational leadership team and the wider EHS community.
  • Deploy the Airbus leadership model in order to engage, develop and motivate the EHS Team in the UK, within Airbus Values and using the HR processes and development tools. Build a trustful and inclusive environment, promoting collaboration, facts driven decisions and an out of silos mindset.
  • Leading projects within his area of responsibility ensuring timely delivery, alignment and execution from team members and other stakeholders.
  • Driving transformation of the team moving from a functional to a business orientation, where anticipation, proactivity and innovation will be key.
  • Maintain good relations and liaise with UK Enforcement agencies as necessary and be the Airbus competent EHS point of contact for all regulatory bodies


ABOUT YOU

  • Leadership capabilities and a proven track record on managing large organisations
  • Act and behave as a strong business partner towards the business (i.e. support & challenge)
  • Degree level education in a relevant EHS discipline
  • Detailed current knowledge of UK EHS legislation
  • Experience of leading dispersed multi EHS disciplinary teams
  • An understanding of operational environments and the management of risk across all aspects of EHS
  • Knowledge of civil litigation and enterprise risk management
