We are now looking for a Financial Controller for Wing Engineering at Airbus GBS.

Responsibilities - your mission

Wing Engineering Controlling

  • Financial focal point for Wing Airframe subcontracting process and reporting, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance and support to EOY processes,
  • In support of the Wing Airframe team, prepare the Wing Airframe monthly finance report on cost base in preparation of operational commentary from the Wing Airframe controlling team.
  • Support Wing Airframe controlling team with data preparation of End of year projections.
  • Support Wing Airframe controlling team with the budget split of Non European engineering centres to ensure target accuracy in financial tools.
  • Preparation and distribution of Wing Airframe missing hours/ hours reporting.
  • Owner of CPN matrix master data for Engineering Controlling .
  • Input of cost by nature into Financial tool set.
  • Assist (back up) for changes to resource data set (Direct/Indirect).
  • Focal point for financial transactions and rebookings (Fiori/CATS/ ASA rebooking)
  • Perform ICPT and associated invoicing for Wing Airframe controlling activities.
  • Focal point for UK Physical Asset Verification ensuring compliance with accounting.
  • Support UK controlling activities (reporting).
  • Ad hoc requirements to support the Wing Airframe controlling team.


Central Engineering controlling:

Support to the Central Controlling team in charge of the Engineering P&L ( Business Functions ):

  • Focal-point for Central Engineering Controlling ensuring accurate on-time & on-quality function performance reporting in the frame of LEAD’s ambition to maintain structural cost flat
  • Produce monthly reporting for One structural cost (focusing on Business Continuity & One Transformation), analyze deviations vs planning on function perimeter only (One) at center level (2 digits)
  • Focus on the function performance (of Engineering), identify overspend/underspend trends and explain rationale behind (shift of deliverables, sub-par/over performance)
  • Ad hoc analysis on specific topics if needed (PO cleaning, Late GRs, CPNs closing...)

Requirements - our ideal candidate will have

  • A capacity to understand the needs/ expectations of a domain while ensuring the overall centre level remains in line with operational targets.
  • To develop strong links of trust with the Airframe community, Engineering Controlling Central Team and production plant Programs.
  • To anticipate difficulties of coming challenges, Forecast submissions & feedbacks via Actuals and operational indicators reviews
  • Good analytical skills to give meaning to complex facts and figures
  • Digital skills and advanced user of google/excel spreadsheets, familiarity with SQL databases or similar would be advantageous, in order to write and develop financial reports for Wing Airframe controlling.
  • Being able to present synthetic outputs and key messages to your business, to the Head of Wing Airframe controller, to Airframe controlling Central Team and to your colleagues.
  • Autonomy, enthusiasm and continuous improvement spirit
  • Experience in financial planning mandatory
  • Business partnering mind-set (i.e. developing a trustful relationship, building empathy and focusing on added value)
  • Able to challenge at different operational levels based on a solid analysis
  • Strong Team spirit & team work
  • Ability to steer people and activities transversally
  • Good communication & presentation skills
  • English is a must; knowledge of French / German / Spanish would be a plus
